Campos

Roel Campos, leaving his job as a commissioner at the Securities and Exchange Commission later this month, will join the law firm Cooley Godward Kronish to head up its Washington, D.C., practice. Campos has been with the SEC since 2002. No word yet on who might be appointed to replace him.

The Internal Revenue Service has re-assigned Stephen Larson, former acting general counsel of the Treasury Department, as acting associate chief counsel of financial institutions and products. Larson will replace Lon Smith, who was re-assigned to a new position.

General Counsels, Corporate Secretaries

Boettcher

Eagle Rock Energy G&P has named Charles Boettcher general counsel. Prior to joining Eagle Rock, Boettcher was a partner at the law firm Thompson & Knight for eight years, where he focused his practice on mergers and acquisitions in the oil and gas industry.

Daniels

$5.3 billion bookseller Barnes & Noble has hired Jennifer Daniels as general counsel and corporate secretary. Prior to joining Barnes & Noble, Daniels served as an attorney in IBM’s legal department for 16 years, most recently serving as vice president, assistant general counsel, and chief trust and compliance officer with worldwide responsibility for IBM’s legal and regulatory compliance.

Chief Accounting Officers, Controllers

Johnston

Qwest Communications International has appointed William Johnston chief accounting officer. Johnston has served as vice president and controller since April; he replaces John Richardson, who will continue to serve as chief financial officer.

$2.3 billion industrial product manufacturer Crane Co. has hired Richard Maue to be controller and chief accounting officer. Maue joins Crane from Paxar Corp., where he served as vice president, controller and chief accounting officer from July 2005 to June 2007.

Transportation holding company Kansas City Southern Railway has promoted Michael Borrows to the position of senior vice president and chief accounting officer. Borrows joined the company in June 2006, most recently serving as vice president and chief accounting officer.

Kimbrough

$7.8 billion financial services firm Regions Financial Corp. has named Brad Kimbrough controller and chief accounting officer. Kimbrough assumes his new role from Al Yother, who has held dual responsibility as chief financial officer and controller since being promoted to CFO in April.

Wiseman

Mobile Satellite Ventures and its corporate parent, SkyTerra Communications, have appointed James Wiseman corporate controller for both entities. In this position, he is responsible for the overall management and direction of all corporate accounting, tax, financial reporting, and related compliance matters, as well as budgeting and business process activities. Wiseman most recently served as vice president of finance and worldwide controller for $314 million business intelligence software company MicroStrategy.

Westmont, Ill.-based SIRVA, a global relocation services provider, has appointed Daniel Mullin chief accounting officer. Mullin joined SIRVA in January 2006 as vice president of financial reporting and corporate accounting. Mullin replaces James Bresingham, who will continue to serve as SIRVA’s acting chief financial officer.

Lake Forest, Calif.-based Apria Healthcare Group has appointed Peter Reynolds chief accounting officer and controller. Reynolds joins Apria Healthcare from Skilled Healthcare Group, where he was chief accounting officer. He replaces Alicia Price, who recently resigned.

Boards of Directors

Assured Guaranty has elected Francisco Borges to the board of directors as a member of the audit and finance committees. In addition, the company announced the retirement of John Heimann from the board and as chairman of the risk oversight committee and the nominating and governance committee. Donald Layton, a director since 2006, will become chairman of the risk oversight committee.

AnnTaylor Stores Corp. has elected Daniel Yih to the board of directors as a member of the audit committee. Yih was most recently chief operating officer and portfolio principal at GTCR Golder Rauner, a privately held investment firm.

Monro Muffler Brake has elected Elizabeth Wolszon to the board of directors as a member of the compensation and nominating committees. She replaces Robert Mellor who has resigned. Wolszon brings more than 30 years of experience to the company, most recently serving as senior vice president of marketing, human resources & strategic planning for auto glass repair and replacement services company Safelite Group.

Houston-based T-3 Energy Services has elected Robert Ayers and Thomas Bates to the board of directors, to serve on the audit, compensation, and nominating committees. Ayers previously worked for ITT Industries before retiring in 2006; Bates has served as a managing director at private equity investment firm, Lime Rock Partners, since 2001.

BPS, a maker of enterprise risk management software, has hired Lloyd Hardin to serve as executive vice president of sales and marketing in the company’s New York office. A senior executive with more than 15 years experience in financial risk management, Hardin will help drive expansion of the BPS client base across domestic and global markets.
