Investment advisory firm Validus Capital announced the appointment of Sean Chen as chief operating officer, chief compliance officer, and managing partner.

Chen brings more than 20 years of operations and compliance experience to Validus and will be responsible for the management and evolution of the firm’s operational and business solutions.

Prior to joining Validus, Chen spent five years with Camden Capital serving multiple leadership roles in compliance and operations, including as the firm’s chief operating officer and chief compliance officer.

Prior to Camden, Chen oversaw operations at Luminous Capital, a registered investment advisory firm that was acquired by First Republic Bank. Prior to Luminous, he spent more than 10 years at Merrill Lynch & Co.
