ZTE appoints chief export compliance officer

ZTE has appointed Matthew Bell as the company's chief export compliance officer and legal counsel. Bell will also serve as the chief compliance officer and legal counsel for ZTE USA, the company's U.S. subsidiary.

Telecommunications company ZTE has agreed to pay a record-high combined civil and criminal penalty of $1.19 billion, pending approval from the courts, for violating U.S. sanctions by sending U.S.-origin items to Iran.
