General Counsels, Corporate Secretaries

Clinton, N.J.-based Ikaria Holdings has hired Matthew Bennet as general counsel. Bennett was previously executive vice president and general counsel of Viasys Healthcare.

The Princeton Review has appointed Neal Winneg executive vice president, secretary, and general counsel. Winneg joins Princeton Review from UPromise, where he was senior vice president, secretary, and general counsel since 2000.

Moya

The Apollo Group has named Robert Moya general counsel. Moya brings with him more than 35 years of experience in corporate and securities law, with particular expertise in corporate governance. He joins the company from the Wisconsin-based firm Quarles & Brady, where he joined as a partner in 1991 and served as of counsel in recent years.

Chief Accounting Officers, Controllers

Murren

$7.3 billion entertainment concern MGM MIRAGE has promoted Bob Selwood as executive vice president and chief accounting officer. In related news, the company also promoted Jim Murren as chief operating officer. Murren previously served as the company’s president, chief financial officer, and treasurer.

$3.7 billion Live Nation has bumped up Chief Accounting Officer Kathy Willard to chief financial officer. She replaces Alan Ridgeway, who has been promoted to chief executive officer of the company’s International Music Division.

Triarc Cos., a $1.2 billion holding company that owns the Arby’s Restaurant Group and other businesses, has named Steven Graham chief accounting officer. Graham also serves as corporate controller of Arby’s specifically, a post he has held since January.

Patterson-UTI Energy has appointed Gregory Pipkin chief accounting officer and assistant secretary. Pipkin served as director of financial reporting from June 2006 through August 2007.

$4.6 billion Telephone and Data Systems has appointed Douglas Shuma corporate controller. Shuma joins TDS from his own consulting company, which provided services to large publicly traded corporations dealing with financial, accounting, and business development issues.

TradeStation Group has announced the resignation of Mark Glassman as chief accounting officer and corporate controller. He will be replaced by David Fleischman, the company’s chief financial officer, vice president of finance, and treasurer.

$928.4 million EnPro Industries has named Donald Pomeroy as vice president, controller, and chief accounting officer. He replaces William Dries, who will continue to serve as the company’s senior vice president and chief financial officer.

$498 million Sypris Solutions has hired Glen French as chief accounting officer. French was previously senior vice president of finance and treasurer for SHPS, a privately held company based in Louisville, Ky. French replaces Jeffrey Reibel, who has resigned.

Boards of Directors

Mountain View, Calif.-based $1.6 billion VeriSign has announced the retirement of Edward Mueller as chair of the board of directors; he served on the audit and compensation committees. Mueller resigned to devote more time to his position as CEO and chairman of the board of Qwest Communications International.

$1.8 billion Tecumseh Products has appointed William Aziz, Steven Lebowski, and Jeffrey Quinn to its board of directors. Both Aziz and Lebowski will serve on the audit committee, while Quinn will serve on the governance, compensation, and nominating committee. In addition, the board announced the departure of Kevin Sheehan, who resigned from the board for personal and family health reasons.

McMahen

$2.3 billion PNM Resources has announced the resignation of Charles McMahen from the board of directors for personal reasons. PNMR director Julie Dobson has been elected to replace McMahen as chair of the audit and ethics committees.

$606 million AMIS Holdings, parent company of AMI Semiconductor, which designs and manufactures digital products for the automotive, medical, industrial, and military sectors, has appointed J.D. Sherman to its board of directors and as a member of the audit committee and its nominating and corporate governance committee. Sherman is currently chief financial officer of Akamai Technologies.

$305 million Borland Software has appointed Charles Kane to serve as a member on the board of directors and as the new chair of the audit committee. Kane replaces Mark Garrett, who has resigned.

Analogic Corp. has elected Fred Parks to its board of directors. Parks, who is chairman and CEO of Urologix, has also been appointed to the nominating and corporate governance and the compensation committees.
