Chief Compliance Officers, Risk Officers

Gnazzo

Computer software company CA has re-assigned Pat Gnazzo, chief compliance officer, to be senior vice president and general manager of the company’s public-sector business. Gnazzo joined CA in 2005 to help rebuild its compliance efforts and reputation, after a massive accounting fraud that ultimately sent the company’s former CEO to prison. In other news, the company has promoted Marc Stoll to corporate controller, and Robert Cirabisi to chief risk officer and interim head of internal audit.

Baldassano

$1.7 billion Cephalon has appointed Valli Baldassano to the new position of executive vice president and chief compliance officer. Baldassano brings to Cephalon 21 years of legal experience with a strong background in health care fraud and compliance issues. Most recently, she served as a partner with the law firm Fox Rothschild in Philadelphia.

Accounting Officers and Controllers

$5.7 billion Unisys Corp. has promoted William Reinheimer to chief accounting officer. Reinheimer has been with the company since 1972 in a variety of corporate accounting positions, serving most recently as director of external reporting.

$1.6 billion Novellus Systems has appointed John Hertz as chief accounting officer. Hertz most recently served as vice president and corporate controller, since joining the company in June 2007.

PharmaNet Development Group has announced the departure of David Natanas, executive vice president of reporting and analysis and chief accounting officer. John Hamill, chief financial officer, will fulfill the role of chief accounting officer.

$874.7 million holding company Saia has appointed Stephanie Maschmeier controller. Maschmeier most recently served as director of financial reporting and taxation since joining the company in July 2002.

Hartmarx Corp. has appointed James Conners vice president and controller. Conners joined the $600 million company from AC Nielsen, where he had held a number of senior accounting and financial positions since 1999. He will succeed Andrew Zahr, who will be retiring after 35 years with the company.

General Counsels, Corporate Secretaries

$1.8 billion Xilinx has appointed Scott Hover-Smoot general counsel and secretary. Hover-Smoot brings more than 25 years of experience to his new position at Xilinx, most recently as regional counsel and director with Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Ltd.

McMillan

Richards McMillan has been named senior vice president and general counsel of $5.7 billion Freeport-McMoRan Copper & Gold. McMillan joins the mining company after a 30-year career with the law firm of Jones, Walker, Waechter, Poitevent, Carrere & Denegre.

Tulsa, Okla.-based Seminole Energy Services has hired Alex Goldberg as general counsel. Goldberg was most recently general counsel for Williams Power.

Private equity firm 3i has hired Kevin Dunn as general counsel. Dunn comes to 3i from General Electric, where he served as senior managing director. He replaces Tony Brierley, who has retired.

Used car retailer CarMax appointed Eric Margolin general counsel and corporate secretary. Margolin comes to CarMax from Advance Auto Parts, where he served as general counsel and corporate secretary since 2001.

On the Board

$4.7 billion Jones Apparel Group has elected Donna Zarcone to its board of directors. Zarcone will also serve on the audit committee.

Minehan

$5.8 billion Becton Dickinson has elected Cathy Minehan to its board of directors. She will serve on the audit, corporate affairs, and corporate governance and nominating committees. From 1994 until her retirement in July 2007, Minehan most recently served as CEO of the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston.

$1.2 billion Altera Corp. has elected Greg Myers to serve as a new member of the company’s board of directors. He will also serve as a member of the audit committee. Myers most recently was CFO of Symantec from 1999 to 2005.

Revlon has elected Barry Schwartz to its board of directors, as a member of the compensation and stock plan committee. Schwartz’s appointment fills the vacancy left by Howard Gittis, who died in September 2007. Schwartz is the executive vice chairman and chief administrative officer of MacAndrews & Forbes Holdings.
