Chief Risk, Compliance Officers

Miskovic

State Street Corp. has named Maureen Miskovic to the newly created position of chief risk officer. Most recently, Miskovic was senior adviser to consulting firm Eurasia Group, based in New York. Her jobs have also included chief risk officer at Lehman Brothers Holdings and treasurer at Morgan Stanley in London.

$3.9 billion UnionBanCal Corp. has named John Erickson vice chairman and chief risk officer. Erickson, who joined the bank in 1983, was named deputy chief risk officer last September. He succeeds Masashi Oka, who is returning to the Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi UFJ.

Kevin Van Solkema has been named chief risk officer of both PrivateBancorp and The PrivateBank of Chicago, a unit of PrivateBancorp. Previously, Van Solkema served as deputy chief credit officer for LaSalle Bank.

Accounting Officers, Controllers

Hertz Global Holdings has appointed Jatindar Kapur senior vice president of finance and corporate controller. Kapur, who joined Hertz in 1988, most recently served as staff vice president of business and strategic planning. In his new role, Kapur succeeds Robert Davis, who joined the company on an interim basis in 2007 upon the retirement of Richard Foti.

$3.2 billion Lithia Motors, based in Medford, Ore., has announced that Linda Ganim will resign as chief accounting officer effective April 30. Jeffrey DeBoer, senior vice president and chief financial officer, will assume her duties. Ganim is the second senior executive to depart since the auto dealership chain disclosed irregularities in the way a small number of its stores accounted for car sales.

$3 billion Steelcase has appointed Mark Mossing as corporate controller and chief accounting officer. Mossing joined the company in 1993 as assistant corporate controller and has served as vice president and corporate controller since September 1999.

The Greenbrier Cos., a railcar refurbishing company, has appointed James Cruckshank chief accounting officer. Most recently, Cruckshank was chief financial officer and vice president of administration for MathStar.

General Counsels, Corporate Secretaries

Pratt

$8.4 billion Boston Scientific has appointed Timothy Pratt corporate secretary and general counsel. Pratt comes to Boston Scientific after 31 years with the Kansas City law firm of Shook, Hardy & Bacon.

VeraSun Energy has appointed Greg Schlicht as senior vice president, general counsel, and corporate secretary. Schlicht comes to VeraSun from US BioEnergy, where he held a similar role.

On the Board

Vehicle rental services company Avis Budget Group has appointed John Hardy to its board of directors. He will also serve on the compensation committee. Hardy is a former partner of the law firm of O’Melveny & Myers, where he served for more than 25 years. Hardy’s election fills the seat of Sheli Rosenberg, who retired after eight years with Avis.

GMAC Financial Services has appointed Ray Young to its board of directors. Young is executive vice president and CFO of General Motors. He assumes the board seat of GM chairman and CEO Rick Wagoner.

E-Trade Financial Corp. has elected Frederick Kanner to its board of directors. He will also serve on the finance and risk oversight and nominating and corporate governance committees. Kanner is a partner at law firm Dewey & LeBoeuf in New York.

Consulting firm Protiviti has hired Richard Collura as a director in the company’s litigation, restructuring, and investigative services practice. Collura brings to the firm more than 11 years experience specializing in forensic accounting, financial fraud investigations, and bankruptcy litigation consulting. Most recently, he was a director in the forensic and litigation consulting practice, FTI Consulting.

R.R. Donnelley & Sons and EDGAR Online have collaborated to launch TryXBRL.com, a Website that allows users to view and analyze complete XBRL-tagged financial statements for more than 12,000 publicly traded corporations.
