Accounting Officers, Controllers

Monster Worldwide has hired James Langrock as senior vice president of finance and chief accounting officer. He assumes the role from Jonathan Trumbull, who has resigned from his positions as vice president, global controller, and chief accounting officer. Prior to joining the company, Langrock was vice president of finance of Motorola’s enterprise mobility business since January 2007.

$4.7 billion Aleris International, based in Beachwood, Ohio, has named Scott McKinley controller. McKinley had served as senior vice president and treasurer since September 2006.

$1.6 billion Capital Bank has announced that Lyn Hittle has resigned as chief accounting after only eight months on the job to pursue a new opportunity. Until the bank finds a replacement, Chief Financial Officer Michael Moore will handle Hittle’s role as chief accounting officer.

Brooks Automation has hired Timothy Mathews to be corporate controller and chief accounting officer. Prior to joining Brooks, Mathews was the vice president of finance for Equallogic, a maker of storage area networking equipment that was acquired by Dell Computer earlier this year.

General Counsels, Corporate Secretaries

Van Bebber

Agribusiness giant Tyson Foods has promoted David Van Bebber to executive vice president and general counsel. Van Bebber, who joined the company in 1986, most recently served as deputy general counsel and senior vice president. He succeeds Alberto Gonzalez-Pita, who has left to pursue other opportunities.

Edison International has appointed Robert Adler as executive vice president and general counsel. He replaces J.A. Bouknight, who has retired. Adler had been a partner in the Los Angeles law firm of Munger, Tolles and Olson since 1978.

Southwest Airlines has named Ron Ricks corporate secretary. Ricks, who was formerly executive vice president, will fill the role of President Colleen Barrett, whose contract expires July 15.

$1 billion American Commercial Lines has named Dawn Landry senior vice president and general counsel. Landry most recently was vice president and chief operating officer for Formula Telecom Solutions.

$872 million Noble International has announced the resignation of Michael Azar as vice president of administration, secretary, and general counsel. Andrew Tavi, who joined Noble in 2005 as deputy general counsel and assistant secretary, will assume his duties.

Chief Risk, Compliance Officers

Capital Investment Companies has named Ronald King chief compliance officer. King brings to Capital Investment Companies more than13 years of management experience in the securities industry; he most recently served as managing partner of the King Garner Group of the Carolinas.

Prothero

The Bank of Bermuda has appointed Mark Prothero to the new role of chief risk officer. Previously, Prothero was the head of HSBC’s securities services in Bermuda, and he has more than 18 years experience within the HSBC Group.

Zurich, Switzerland-based UBS Investment Bank has hired Thomas Daula as chief risk officer. He most recently worked as chief risk officer at Morgan Stanley. The appointment follows UBS’ $37.4 billion in sub-prime writedowns.

On the Board

Brouillard

Advance Auto Parts, based in Roanoke, Va., has elected John Brouillard and Francesca Spinelli to its board of directors. Brouillard, who served as the interim chair, president, and chief executive officer of Advance Auto Parts from May 2007 until January, will serve on the compensation committee. Spinelli, who is senior vice president of people for PetSmart, will serve on the nominating and corporate governance committees.

Novich

Analog Devices, based in Norwood, Mass., has elected Neil Novich to its board of directors. He will serve on the nominating and corporate governance committees. Novich is the former chairman, president, and chief executive officer of Ryerson, a maker and distributor of global metals.
