Sirri

The Securities and Exchange Commission has appointed Erik Sirri director of its Division of Market Regulation. Sirri is a professor of finance at Babson College and a visiting professor at Harvard Law School; he previously worked at the SEC as chief economist in the late 1990s.

Executive Moves

In Troy, Mich., bankrupt automotive parts supplier Delphi Corp. has named Thomas Timko chief accounting officer. Prior to joining Delphi, Timko was assistant controller at Interpublic Group. Delphi’s previous chief accounting officer, John Sheehan, held that position on an interim basis and will remain at the company as chief restructuring officer.

Varian Medical Systems has named Tai-Yun Chen vice president and corporate controller. Chen, who has worked at Palo Alto, Calif.-based Varian in various financial jobs since 1983, replaces Cris Raimundo, who is retiring.

Denver-based Credo Petroleum Corp. has reorganized its financial and accounting functions to streamline its compliance efforts. David Dennis, a long-time certified public accountant, will assume the job of chief financial officer on a part-time basis. Alford Neely will work on compliance efforts full-time as Credo’s manager of regulatory compliance, a newly created post.

Angela Tyczkowski has been named chief compliance officer for Appleton, a maker of films and packaging materials in Appleton, Wisc. She will be responsible for the company’s ethical, legal and regulatory compliance matters, as well as its environmental, health and safety practices. Tyczkowski is already Appleton’s corporate secretary and general counsel.

In Pittsburgh, Linn Energy Corp. has named Lisa Anderson chief accounting officer. Anderson comes to the energy company from consulting firm Protiviti, where she was managing director of the financial reporting and risk services group. She replaces Donald Robinson, who resigned from Linn in June.

Clean Harbors, an environmental services business, has named John Beals corporate controller. Beals, previously the controller at 3Com Corp., will oversee SEC compliance, financial reporting, and development of accounting systems at the Norwell, Mass.-based company.

In Singapore, Edison Foo Meng Keat has been named vice president for enterprise risk management at Singapore Computer Systems, an IT services company. Foo’s primary role will be to institute best practices to minimize the risk of troubled projects.

Adventrx Pharmaceuticals in San Diego has named Patrick Keran to the newly created position of general counsel. Keran was previously associate general counsel at Isis Pharmaceuticals.

Transbotics Corp., a systems integrator for transportation equipment, has created its first-ever principal accounting officer job and named Robert Plyler to fill it. Plyler was previously chief financial officer of Nova Trading USA, a textiles manufacturer.

On The Board

Phil Hester has been named to the board of directors at ON Semiconductor Corp., and will serve on the Phoenix-based company’s corporate governance and executive committees. Hester is chief technology officer of microchip giant Advanced Micro Devices.

In Scottsdale, Ariz., Kona Grill has named Kent Carlson to the restaurant chain’s board of directors and audit committee. Carlson is head of the commercial real estate practice at Marshall & Ilsley Bank.

A.P. Pharma, a specialty pharmaceutical company in Redwood City, Calif., has named Arthur Taylor to its board of directors. Taylor, chief operating and finance officer for Kyphon Inc., will serve on A.P. Pharma’s audit and finance committees.

Energy company Toreador Resources Corp. has named Alan Bell to its board of directors. Bell, formerly director of Ernst & Young’s energy practice in the southwest, will be chair of Dallas-based Toreador’s audit committee.

American Mold Guard, “a provider of mold prevention services” based in San Juan Capistrano, Calif., has appointed Dario Bianchi to its board of directors and its compensation committee. The managing director of Sienna Financial Services, he replaces Thomas Donnelly, who has resigned.

In Itasca, Ill., home goods maker Enesco Group has appointed Roger Odell to its board of directors and audit committee. Odell is a former managing director of JP Morgan Chase Bank.

From The Vendors, Providers

Greg Haycock, a senior partner at auditing firm KPMG, will retire from the firm at the end of September. Haycock will also leave KPMG’s European board and its international council. Haycock has been with KPMG in various roles since 1985.

Governance software maker Stellent has acquired SealedMedia, a pioneer in developing “digital rights management” software to control how electronic information is used, and Bitform, which makes data cleansing technologies. Stellent plans to incorporate the companies’ software features into upcoming versions of its enterprise software products.

IT security giant McAfee has unveiled two new products, McAfee Foundstone Enterprise 5.0 and McAfee Preventsys Compliance Auditor and Risk Analyzer. The two are designed to work together and with third-party applications to automate control and reporting of potential IT security threats.
