Chief Compliance Officers

Investment powerhouse TIAA-CREF has named Janice Innis-Thompson chief compliance officer. Innis-Thompson joined TIAA-CREF in October 2006, most recently serving as acting chief compliance officer. She succeeds James Reilly, who has moved to a new position. TIAA-CREF has more than $400 billion under management for teachers, academics, and other education professionals.

Chief Accounting Officers, Controllers

GMAC Financial Services, the $33 billion financier of auto loans, real estate mortgages, and similar offerings, has named David DeBrunner corporate controller and chief accounting officer. DeBrunner joins GMAC from Fifth Third Bancorp, where he was senior vice president and corporate controller. He replaces Linda Zukauckas, who has been promoted to vice president of finance.

Health insurer WellPoint has appointed Jamie Miller senior vice president and chief accounting officer. Prior to joining WellPoint, Miller served with PricewaterhouseCoopers in a number of roles including, most recently, as the financial services leader for the Chicago practice.

IHOP, the casual restaurant chain based in Gendale, Calif., has appointed Greggory Kalvin vice president and controller. Kalvin will lead IHOP’s accounting, tax, and financial reporting groups and will be responsible for the company’s accounting management and regulatory reporting and compliance process. Kalvin most recently served as the chief accounting officer for j2 Global Communications.

$74 million Omega Flex has tacked on the title of chief accounting officer to Paul Kane’s duties. Kane will continue to serve as controller, a position he has held since joining the company in September 2005.

Houston-based Stewart & Stevenson Corp. has appointed Ron Whitter chief accounting officer. Whitter, a certified public accountant, brings more than 22 years of experience, most recently serving as CFO of oilfield service company Warrior Energy Services Corp.

Sioux City, Iowa-based Terra Industries has named Brian Frantum vice president and controller. Frantum joined Terra as an assistant controller in 2005.

Tobin

Michael Tobin has joined Onset Computer Corp.’s senior management team as controller. Tobin brings more than 25 years of financial management experience to Onset, having most recently served as the chief financial officer for Resin Distribution, a national wholesale distributor of plastic resin.

General Counsels, Corporate Secretaries

Columbia, Md.-based Sourcefire has appointed Douglas McNitt general counsel. McNitt joins Sourcefire from webMethods, where he served as general counsel, corporate secretary, and executive vice president. He will replace Joseph Boyle, who is returning to private law practice.

Board of Directors

Dykstra

$1 billion Gartner has appointed Karen Dykstra to its board of directors and as a member of its audit committee. Dykstra has been a partner of Greenwich, Conn.-based Plainfield Asset Management since January, and has served as chief operating officer and chief financial officer of Plainfield Direct Corp. since May 2006.

Springdale, Ark.-based Tyson Foods has elected Kevin McNamara to its board of directors and as a member of the audit committee. McNamara has been executive vice president, CFO, and treasurer of Nashville, Tenn.-based HealthSpring since April 2005.

Reynolds

$10.2 billion Anadarko Petroleum has elected Paula Rosput Reynolds and Peter Fluor to its board of directors, as members of the nominating and corporate governance committee. Reynolds, who is president and chief executive officer of property and casualty insurer Safeco Corp., will also serve on the audit committee. Fluor, who is chairman and chief executive officer of Texas Crude Energy, a private oil and gas exploration company, will serve on the compensation and benefits committee.

Power-One has appointed Richard Thompson to its board of directors and as a member of its audit committee. Thompson most recently served as chief financial officer of $2 billion American Power Conversion, which was acquired by Schneider Electric SA in February.

The Chicago-based law firm Seyfarth Shaw has hired Jason Priebe to be of counsel in the firm’s e-discovery practice group. Priebe was previously assistant counsel of corporate governance, law, and regulation at Allstate Insurance.
