Independent accounting firm Weaver has announced the promotions of six professionals to partner.

These new partners are as follows:

Jayna Bovre, partner-in-charge of operations. Bovre joined Weaver's information technology team in 2005 and became the director of the group shortly thereafter. In 2007, she was named director of operations. Bovre is currently responsible for overseeing human resources, finance, information technology, professional development, administration and marketing. She has more than 16 years of experience in operations management for midsize public accounting firms, including implementing operational processes, procedures, policies and budgets. Prior to joining Weaver, Bovre worked for Virchow, Krause and Company.

Timothy Dowling, partner, tax and strategic business services. Dowling has more than 30 years of experience in public accounting, including advising a variety of businesses on tax compliance and planning, research, and other tax consulting. He joined Weaver in 2009 as a tax senior manager when Weaver opened an office in Austin. He serves clients in a variety of industries including technology, real estate, construction, retail and manufacturing. Prior to joining the firm, Dowling worked for BDO Seidman, Reynolds & Dowling, and Brown, Graham & Company.

Philippe Simoens, partner, tax and strategic business services. With more than 12 years of experience in public accounting, Philippe Simoens focuses primarily on corporation and partnership tax planning and compliance. His experience includes assisting companies with international, multi-state and local tax compliance issues, particularly for manufacturing and distribution, financial services and hedge fund entities. Simoens joined Weaver in 1998.

George Stavinoha, partner, tax and strategic business services. With more than 19 years of experience, Stavinoha is a member of Weaver's real estate and construction industry practice with specialty areas in consulting, compliance and tax planning for individuals, corporations, partnerships, estates and trusts. He also provides services related to mineral interest taxation, the Texas franchise tax, multi-state taxation, choice of entity, asset-protection strategies, gift and estate-tax planning and litigation support. He joined Weaver in 2009 when the firm expanded into San Antonio and merged with Polansky McNutt Perry & Company.

Brian Reed, partner, transaction advisory services. Reed has 12 years of accounting experience primarily focused in the areas of acquisition due diligence and valuation services. He joined Weaver in 2009 to lead the firm's transaction advisory services practice. Reed works with companies in several industries including manufacturing and distribution, oil and gas, retail, technology, and professional services. Prior to joining Weaver, he founded Lone Star Value Advisors, a valuation and advisory firm.

Colby Warr, partner, assurance services. Warr, who joined Weaver in 2009, has more than 12 years of public accounting experience focusing on financial statement audits and reviews, carve-out audits, and other transaction-related services. He works with clients across the energy industry including upstream, midstream and downstream companies, as well as natural gas and wind-energy companies.

Warr also has experience with bond offerings, hedge accounting, Sarbanes-Oxley integration, business combinations, goodwill and other intangible asset impairment reviews and renewable energy cash grants under Section 1603 of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009. He has extensive experience with International Financial Reporting Standards and has led several conversion projects for companies making the transition from U.S. GAAP to IFRS.
