Warner Bros. Entertainment has promoted Ana de Castro to deputy general counsel. She will report directly to Executive Vice President and General Counsel John Rogovin.

In her new position, de Castro, who has been with Warner Bros. 18 years, will play a key role in helping guide the legal function at the Studio, focusing on franchise properties and commercial opportunities around the world. She will also work closely with Rogovin and Warner Bros.' senior legal team on strategic initiatives to optimize the efficiency and effectiveness of the Studio-wide legal group.

De Castro most recently served as senior vice president, business and legal affairs for Warner Bros. consumer products, a post to which she was promoted in 2007. Prior to that, she served as vice president, legal affairs, WBCP, and senior attorney, having joined the company as an attorney in 1996.

Before joining WBCP, de Castro served as assistant general counsel, marketing at Unilever USA. She began her career as a corporate attorney at Morrison & Foerster.
