Drug developer ViroPharma announced that Richard Morris no longer serves as chief accounting officer, as of June 20. Instead, he will remain with the company as vice president of financial planning and strategic analysis.

Morris has been chief accounting officer since April 2008 and vice president since January 2011. "He has a proven track record here and has shown great aptitude at ViroPharma," Will Roberts, a ViroPharma spokesman, tells Compliance Week. "We are moving him to a global business role to continue to broaden his experience."

The company said it is actively searching to fill Morris' former role. In the interim, Chief Financial Officer Charles Rowland assumes the role of principal financial and accounting officer.
