Less than one year after coming on board as senior vice president, general counsel and assistant corporate secretary for offshore drilling contractor Transocean, Nick Deeming announced that he will be resigning for personal reasons.

Effective immediately, Deeming's responsibilities as general counsel will be assumed by Michael Munro, vice president, deputy general counsel and chief compliance officer, and David Schwab, senior associate general counsel, global head of dispute resolution. Munro and Schwab will report to President and Chief Executive Officer Steven Newman.

Munro joined Transocean in 2008 as associate general counsel and chief compliance officer. He was named vice president in 2010 and deputy general counsel in 2012. Prior to joining the company, he held various legal and compliance positions at oilfield services company Baker Hughes and helicopter transport company Bristow. He also served in various capacities at the Dow Jones Chemical company from 1989 until 2006 including deputy director of global ethics and compliance.

Schwab joined Transocean in 2010 as associate general counsel. He was appointed global head of dispute resolution in 2011 and named senior associate general counsel in 2012. Prior to joining the company, he served at gas company Air Liquide for 10 years, most recently as general counsel. Previously, he served at law firm Bracewell & Patterson.
