Global specialty insurer Torus has appointed Carl Groth as group chief risk officer, with immediate effect. He will report directly to CEO Clive Tobin.

Groth will join the executive management team and be tasked with the formulation of a comprehensive and integrated enterprise risk management program on a worldwide basis.

Prior to joining Torus, Groth worked for Deloitte, where he led the firm’s U.S. insurance enterprise risk management practice offering advice pertaining to Solvency II to companies. Earlier in his career he was with Willis Group, and also held a number of different positions with Liberty Mutual Group.
