The Network, a provider of governance, risk and compliance solutions, has opened an office in London to accommodate growing demand for GRC solutions in Europe. The office, which will serve as the hub for The Network's European operations, is led by Paul Bates, director of European Union Sales.

"Organizations around the world are increasingly looking for the right solutions to build ethical cultures and manage their GRC initiatives," said Luis Ramos, chief executive officer of The Network. "Growing our presence in the United Kingdom will help us better serve our existing U.K.-based customers and expand delivery of our full suite of services to European companies, enabling them to better combat corporate fraud and ensure regulatory compliance."

Earlier this year, the UK passed the Bribery Act to repeal England's existing laws on bribery and replaced them with a comprehensive anti-bribery code and a more effective legal framework to combat bribery in the public and private sectors. "Laws like these create a greater need for corporations to examine existing internal GRC programs and integrate strategic risk management and compliance processes across their organizations," added Ramos.
