Textainer Group Holdings Limited, the world's largest lessor of intermodal containers based on fleet size, has appointed Daniel Cohen as vice president and general counsel.

Cohen was previously with Sybase for six years where he served as corporate counsel. Before joining Sybase, he practiced corporate, securities and mergers and acquisitions law with Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati in Palo Alto and practiced finance and securitization law with Mayer Brown in Chicago and Sidley Austin in London.

In other news, Textainer also has named Hilliard Terry as executive vice president and chief financial officer. Terry was most recently vice president and treasurer and formerly the head of investor relations at Agilent Technologies, where he has worked since the company's spin-off from Hewlett-Packard Company. Before joining Agilent, he worked in marketing and investor relations for HP's VeriFone subsidiary. Terry has also held positions in investor relations and investment banking with Kenetech Corporation and Goldman, Sachs & Co., respectively.

Terry's appointment will be effective in January while Cohen's appointment was effective in September. Ernest Furtado, who had been serving as CFO will continue to serve as senior vice president, chief accounting, and compliance officer.
