AI expert at CW2024: Why AI needs compliance

If there was one takeaway Diana Kelley offered during her keynote address at Day 2 of Compliance Week’s National Conference in Washington, D.C. on Wednesday, it was that artificial intelligence tools—especially generative AI—need compliance.
“When we opt for more compliance, it will benefit AI,” said Kelley, an expert on the technology who serves as chief information security officer for Protect AI.
Generative AI, including chatbots like ChatGPT, is in wide use and can offer the perception of being accurate and reflecting reality. Often, the answers it provides are convincing, Kelley said.
