The TCW Group, a global asset management firm with over $140 billion in assets under management, has appointed Jeffrey Engelsman as global chief compliance officer.

In this role, he will be responsible for development, oversight, and assessment of the firm’s policies and procedures to ensure compliance with government and industry regulations in all jurisdictions in which TCW operates.  He reports jointly to TCW President and Chief Executive Officer David Lippman and Executive Vice President and General Counsel Meredith Jackson.

With nearly 20 years of experience in asset management compliance, Engelsman joins TCW from New York Life Investment Management, where he was most recently a managing director and chief compliance officer for more than 70 open-end and closed-end funds.  Prior to New York Life, he served as senior counsel to Deutsche Asset Management, where he oversaw mutual fund governance, offshore fund governance and 1940 Act regulatory matters.
