Sysco, a global seller, marketer, and distributor of food products, has appointed Russell Libby to the new position of executive vice president of corporate affairs and chief legal officer. He also will continue in his current role as corporate secretary.

With his expanded responsibilities, Libby will oversee the Sysco functions of legal, government relations, compliance, enterprise risk management, business development, corporate social responsibility, and communications.

Libby had served as Sysco's senior vice president, general counsel and corporate secretary since November 2011. He joined the company in 2007 as assistant vice president of mergers and acquisitions and real estate.

Assuming the role of  SVP and general counsel is Adam Skorecki, who joins Sysco from Arnall Golden Gregory, where he served as a partner in the mergers and acquisitions practice. In his new role, he will be responsible for Sysco legal areas that include contracts, litigation, employment, M&A, and ERISA/benefits.

Additionally, Joel Grade has been named senior vice president of finance and chief accounting officer. He will report to EVP and Chief Financial Officer Chris Kreidler. Grade most recently was SVP of U.S. Broadline Operations (West). In his new role, he will oversee the functions of field finance (United States and Canada), commercial finance, financial planning and analysis, financial reporting, and shared services accounting.
