Swank Capital, an investment adviser with over $1.1 billion under management, has appointed Barry Greenberg as general counsel and chief compliance officer. Greenberg, who also serves in the same capacity for The Cushing MLP Funds, is responsible for oversight of the firm's legal and regulatory compliance functions. He also will work closely with senior management on product development and other strategic initiatives.

Prior to joining Swank, Greenberg was a partner in the investment funds practice of Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld in Dallas, where he was responsible for advising private U.S. and offshore funds, mutual funds and investment advisers on a wide range of issues including entity formation, governance and regulatory compliance matters.

Greenberg's career includes ten years as in-house general counsel for a mutual fund sponsor and manager of alternative investment funds and seven years in the enforcement division of the Securities and Exchange Commission.
