Managing the unrelenting pace and increasing complexity of regulations is the top concern among compliance professionals, according to a recent survey by Compliance Week and Resolver.

Nearly a third of 102 compliance professionals (32 percent) polled between August and September, said managing regulatory change effectively was their top compliance concern, signaling an increased need to be proactive and get ahead of emerging risk, experts said. Monitoring and assessing future potential regulatory impacts (21 percent) and  accessing and integrating internal data (17 percent) followed as the top concerns.

For compliance professionals at financial services companies, who represented more than a third (37 percent) of survey respondents, those top concerns were reversed: horizon scanning for future potential regulatory impacts was their top concern, at 36 percent, followed by managing regulatory change effectively, at 28 percent.
