SolarWinds, an IT management software provider, has released two new file-transfer management offerings: SolarWinds FTP Voyager and SolarWinds Serv-U Managed File Transfer Server, which SolarWinds acquired as part of its purchase of Rhino Software this week.

The movement and transfer of sensitive company materials and business-critical information present a particularly challenging scenario for SolarWinds' users and IT pros. Currently, they find themselves trapped between expensive, per seat licensed products that strap already dwindling IT budgets, and a Wild West environment, where security and compliance are compromised by employees using any service they can find to transfer data.

SolarWinds Serv-U Managed File Transfer Server provides a cost-effective, secure managed file transfer solution with an intuitive, easy to use web interface as well as the ability to access files on the go through secure mobile access.

Users of the product will be able to achieve the following capabilities:

Secure, automate, and manage file transfers and workflows;

Provide comprehensive enterprise security, tracking and reporting features to demonstrate compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley, Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act, and Gramm-Leach-Bliley regulations, as well as any internal corporate standards;

Support multiple secure file transfer methods to quickly and easily manage and transfer files back and forth, increasing team and business productivity

Reduce the risk and exposure of storing sensitive company information and files in the cloud

SolarWinds also offers the SolarWinds FTP Voyager product for free, which offers support features like drag-n-drop, scheduled transfers and folder synchronization from your Windows desktop.

SolarWinds does not believe the RhinoSoft acquisition will have a material impact on the company's fourth quarter results and, therefore, has not disclosed the terms of the transaction.
