The Securities and Exchange Commission announced last week it had appointed William Lenox as ethics counsel. Lenox will head the SEC's ethics office, where he has worked since 1993. He previously served as a senior trial attorney in the division of enforcement at the Commodities Futures Trading Commission.

The SEC also announced that Peter Bresnan had been appointed associate director in the Commission's Division of Enforcement. Bresnan, who has been at the SEC since 2001, will serve as a senior official in the division of enforcement, and will assist in planning and directing the Commission's investigations and other enforcement efforts. As a former deputy chief litigation counsel, Bresnan most recently served as the SEC's lead trial counsel in the WorldCom case.
