The SEC Investor Advisory Committee, created under the Dodd-Frank Act, has appointed Anne Sheehan as a member. 

Sheehan currently serves as director of corporate governance at the California State Teachers' Retirement System, (CalSTRS). She joined the pension fund in 2008, with nearly three decades of senior management and leadership experience addressing complex legislative, regulatory and public finance issues.

Prior to CalSTRS, Sheehan served as chief deputy director for policy at the California Department of Finance, where she sat as a member of the Teachers' Retirement Board, the governing body of CalSTRS. She also served as the deputy assistant secretary for Congressional Affairs with the U.S. Department of Energy.

Sheehan was recently elected chair of the Council of Institutional Investors and is a member of the NASDAQ Listing Council and the Northern California Chapter of the National Association of Corporate Directors.
