The Risk and Insurance Management Society (RIMS) has elected Scott Clark as president for the 2011 term, effective Jan. 1. Clark is the risk and benefits officer for the School Board of Miami-Dade County, Fla.

Clark served as secretary for RIMS in 2010 and has been a member of the RIMS board since 2000. Clark also is a founder of RIMS' Greater Miami Chapter, where he served as president in 1992 and again in 2003. Past professional experience includes his role as state officer of the Florida Educational Risk Managers Association from 1989-1991 and president from 1991-1992. Clark is currently a member of the State and Local Government Benefit Association, Public Risk and Insurance Management Association, and Florida Health Care Coalition board.

Joining Clark as officers on the RIMS 2011 board of directors are vice president, Deborah Luthi, risk manager, assurance and internal controls, San Francisco Public Utilities Commission; secretary, John Phelps, director of business risk solutions, Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Florida; and treasurer, Carolyn Snow, director, insurance risk management, Humana.

Newly elected members of the board are Kim Hunton, corporate risk manager, City of Ottawa; Lori Seidenberg, vice president, enterprise risk management, Centerline Capital Group; and William Montanez, director, risk management, Ace Hardware Corporation.
