PwC has hired Erik Hansen as a partner within its risk assurance services practice. In his new role, Hansen will oversee PwC's Internal Audit Services for the greater Houston region, focusing on companies in the oil and gas industry.

Prior to joining PwC, Hansen served as a partner with KPMG where he led several enterprise risk assessment engagements to assist organizations in building risk profiles and risk-based audit plans. With more than 20 years of accounting, auditing and advisory experience, Hansen has served companies in the oil and gas industry on issues related to internal audit outsourcing and co-sourcing solutions, Sarbanes-Oxley assistance services, as well as other risk and control-related services. He also has served as an instructor in several KPMG training programs designed to provide partners and managers with the skills and knowledge necessary to be effective in the marketplace.
