Owens Corning, a building materials and services company, announced that Mark Mayer, vice president and chief accounting officer, will be retiring March 31.

He will resign as chief accounting officer effective Feb. 29. Assuming the role of chief accounting officer will be Kelly Schmidt, vice president and controller.

Schmidt has served in her current position since April 2011. She joined Owens Corning as vice president of internal audit in May 2010. Prior to joining the company, she spent 13 years with United Technologies, where she held various positions, most recently leading the Shared Business Services organization.
