The Office of the Comptroller of Currency has named Grovetta Gardineer as deputy comptroller for compliancy policy, effective Feb. 28. In this role, Gardineer will be responsible for OCC policy and examination procedures relating to consumer issues and anti-money laundering.

Gardineer, who has more than 22 years of experience in bank supervision and regulation, joins the OCC from the Office of Thrift Supervision. Since 2008, she has served as the managing director for corporate and international activities at the OTS. She joined the OTS in 2006 as the managing director for supervision policy, responsible for capital policy, credit risk, trust operations, accounting policy, and information technology risk assessment.

Prior to joining the OTS, Grovetta spent several years as an attorney with the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation handling enforcement actions and preparing policies and regulations affecting the financial services industry.
