$16 billion Nomura Holdings, based in Japan, has appointed David Benson as its new chief risk officer and senior managing director. In his new role, Benson will manage Nomura’s global risk profile.

Previously, Benson was Nomura International’s chief operating officer from 2004 to 2006 and has served as its chief risk officer and on the board of directors for the last several years.

In other news, Nomura has also announced that Yuji Nakata, currently based in London as part of the transition group for Europe fixed income, will return to Tokyo to take up the position of head of Tokyo risk management at Nomura Securities.
