PwC U.S. has hired Carl Johnson as a senior advisor to the firm's advisory business, with a focus on serving public sector organizations.

Johnson brings over 38 years of experience working with cyber intelligence, data analytics, and cryptology to help organizations mitigate the threat of cyber-crime. He joins PwC from the National Security Agency (NSA), where he was the Signals Intelligence Directorate's Chief of Staff.

He also previously served as the Chief NSA/Central Security Service Europe. In this position, he led NSA's Signals Intelligence, Information Assurance, and Network Warfare support to Europe and Africa Commands while managing the cryptologic enterprise focused on their areas of responsibility. Johnson was the European Command's primary linkage to NSA Headquarters and its capabilities and services.

Johnson also served as NSA's Deputy Director for Analysis and Production with global responsibility, and was the Senior Advisor to the Deputy Director of National Intelligence for Analysis and Support. Prior to his role at NSA, Johnson served in the U.S. Air Force as a cryptologist.
