$4.9 billion Lexmark International, a maker of computer printers and other related products, has appointed Robert Patton as vice president, general counsel, and secretary.

Patton, who was appointed acting general counsel and secretary in June, joined Lexmark in 2001 as corporate counsel, focusing primarily on supporting Lexmark’s business operations and litigation. In his new assignment, Patton is responsible for the worldwide operations of the company’s legal department.

Prior to joining Lexmark, Patton spent 15 years at Xerox Corp., where he most recently served as associate general counsel.
