PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP has named Shane Sims as a director in the firm’s U.S. Advisory Forensic Services Practice. In this role, Sims will focus on supporting clients with forensic investigations, cyber security, and crisis management services from the firm’s Washington D.C. office.

Sims has led numerous domestic and international investigations of cyber crime, identity theft, fraud, theft of intellectual property, money laundering, extortion, child abductions, and terrorism. Prior to joining PwC, he served for over ten years as a Special Agent and Supervisory Special Agent at the Federal Bureau of Investigation. In these roles, he responded to a variety of critical incidents, including the terrorist attacks on 9/11, and has helped organizations spanning all industries resolve crisis situations.

Prior to his positions with the FBI, Sims was the founder and CEO of a technology consultancy that delivered a variety of services to private-sector companies including data security, data center operations, network center operations, and help desk operations.
