National Penn Bancshares has named Sandra Bodnyk, currently group executive vice president, as chief risk officer. In this position, she will report to President and CEO Glenn Moyer.

In her new role, Bodnyk will be responsible for continuing to strengthen National Penn’s risk management processes including commercial credit, fraud and loss prevention, security, loan review, and regulatory compliance. She will work regularly with the company’s audit function, as well as with the enterprise risk management and audit committees of the board of directors.

Bodnyk has more than 35 years of financial services experience, holding key positions at National Penn, KNBT Bancorp, and Wachovia. Her background includes nearly a decade of senior level experience in Risk Management. She joined National Penn in February 2008 with the company’s acquisition of KNBT. Bodnyk joined KNBT in 2004 as executive vice president and chief credit officer.
