$1.3 billion Kimball International, a global manufacturer of electronic components and commercial furniture, has promoted Michelle Schroeder to the position of chief accounting officer.

Schroeder began her career with Kimball in 1984, serving in several marketing administrative roles before taking a leave in 1993 to pursue a degree in Accounting. She returned in 1996 as a financial analyst and held several additional accounting roles leading to her current appointment as vice president and corporate controller in 2004. In her new role, she will take on added responsibilities for corporate taxation, including worldwide tax planning and compliance.
