National Oilwell Varco has appointed Craig Weinstock as general counsel and secretary. He will replace Dwight Rettig, who plans to retire effective Oct. 1, 2014.

Since joining National Oilwell Varco in October 2013, Weinstock has served as chief compliance officer and vice president of internal audit.

Prior to joining National Oilwell Varco, Weinstock practiced law at Locke Lord for 29 years, counseling corporate boards and independent directors regarding governance, securities, and compliance matters. While practicing with Locke Lord, Weinstock worked on behalf of National Oilwell Varco on a variety of matters.
