Morgan Stanley has named Eric Grossman, currently general counsel for the Americas, to the newly created position of global head of legal.

According to an internal memo from chief legal officer Frank Barron, Grossman will be responsible for overseeing all of the firm’s advisory law and litigation, Bloomberg News has reported. Since joining the company in 2006, Grossman also previously was global head of litigation and general counsel for Morgan Stanley Smith Barney. He was named to the company's management committee in July.
