Mitratech, a provider of collaborative accountability applications including automation of enterprise legal operations, has partnered with legal technology specialist June Consulting Group to ease the implementation of processes for meeting new mandatory Medicare reporting deadlines.

Based on the Medicare, Medicaid, and the SCHIP Extension Act of 2007, Responsible Reporting Entities such as group health plans face new reporting requirements for applicable claims involving Medicare beneficiaries in which on or after July 1, 2009, there is a settlement, judgment, award, or other payment that constitutes payment or reimbursement for medical costs; self-insured organizations are similarly implicated. Compliant reporting with quarterly submissions is required for the first time in 2011.

TeamConnect is a holistic applications platform for automating the significant legal and governance, risk & compliance processes of enterprise organizations, while enabling more productive collaboration and control over costs and liability. Configuring TeamConnect with the Medicare Reporting solution enables insurers to leverage Mitratech's matter management process automation to create a comprehensive system of tracking, reporting, and notification that adheres to impending new Medicare regulations.

June Consulting developed the Medicare Reporting solution as a services engagement that involves customizing fields and writing rules for TeamConnect to generate compliant notifications anytime a claimant is paid a reward or compensation. Using the "matter-centric" approach of TeamConnect, organizations subject to Act can be confident they are in compliance.
