$1.1 billion Minerals Technologies has named Thomas Meek vice president, general counsel, and secretary, effective Sept. 1. He succeeds Kirk Forrest who will retire at year-end after having served as general counsel for five years.

Meek joins Minerals Technologies from Alcoa, where he served as deputy general counsel. In that position he was chief litigation counsel for all global litigation, claims, governmental investigations, and subpoenas. In addition, he also served as Alcoa's global compliance director.
