Michael Braddock, controller of Marathon Petroleum, has announced his intention to retire effective Oct. 1, 2014. Until his retirement, he will continue as chief accounting officer of both MPC and MPLX.

In conjunction with Braddock's pending retirement, MPC has appointed John Quaid to the position of controller, effective June 23, 2014. Quaid joins MPC from Iron Ore, where he was vice president, with responsibilities for all mining operations, since January 2014. Prior to that, he was with U.S. Steel, where he most recently held the role of corporate treasurer, since August 2011.
