Lloyd's of London has appointed Sean McGovern as chief risk officer. Additionally, he will be joining Lloyd's franchise board, which is responsible for the day-to-day management of the Lloyd's market, as a member.
McGovern, who has been with Lloyd's since 1996, was appointed general counsel, with responsibility for Lloyd's legal, regulatory, and government affairs in 2002.
In other news, Lloyd's named Joy Griffiths as a non-executive member of the Lloyd's franchise board, and Fred Hu as a member of the Council of Lloyd's, the body responsible for the management and supervision of the Lloyd's market; the Council can discharge some of its functions directly by making decisions and issuing resolutions, requirements, rules, and bylaws. Other decisions are delegated to the franchise board and associated committees.
