Lloyds Banking Group has scooped up three former executives from rival British bank, Banco Santander, triggered by a reshuffle of Santander UK's management team.

Among the appointments, Juan Colombas will be Lloyds' new chief risk officer, effective Jan. 17. He is currently executive director of the risk division at Santander UK, and will replace Carol Sergeant at the end of January.

In addition, Lloyds also hired Antonio Lorenzo as director of its wealth and international division. Lorenzo, currently CFO and head of the wealth management division at Santander UK, will join Lloyds on March 1, 2011.

The appointments of both Colombas and Lorenzo follow the hiring of Antonio Horta-Osorio, who leaves Santander on Jan. 16 to assume the post of CEO at Lloyds in February 2011. Horta-Osorio assumes the chief role from Eric Daniels.
