JetBlue Airways has appointed Michael Carbone as vice president, associate general counsel. In his new position, Carbone will oversee JetBlue's employment, litigation and regulatory matters.

Carbone joined the company in 2005 and most recently served as director of litigation and regulatory affairs. In this capacity, he was responsible for handling insured and uninsured matters including major property loss, personal injury and employment. He was also involved in regulatory matters, working with such agencies as the Department of Transportation, Federal Aviation Administration and the Transportation Security Administration.

Prior to joining JetBlue, Carbone was in private practice with law firm Gordon & Silber, where he represented private and public health care institutions and large manufacturers against malpractice and product liability claims.
