Investment management firm, Invesco, announced on March 15 that its group controller and chief accounting officer, David Hartley, has resigned to pursue another opportunity.

The company said in an SEC filing that "Hartley's resignation is not the result of any issue or concern with the company's accounting, financial reporting or internal control over financial reporting."

Effective April 29, the company has appointed Roderick Ellis as group controller and chief accounting officer, reporting to Loren Starr, senior managing director and chief financial officer. Hartley will work with Ellis in the interim until April 29 to ensure a smooth transition of the company's accounting responsibilities.

Ellis, who has been with Invesco since 1996, has under his belt more than 22 years of experience in financial accounting, auditing, internal control and accounting management. Most recently, he served as global director of financial planning and analysis, and treasurer from May 2007 to the present. From 2000 to 2007, he served as director of finance, Europe and, earlier in his career, as Invesco's director of finance, Asia.

Previously, Ellis served eight years as an audit manager with KPMG in the UK and Hong Kong, where he was responsible for the audits of numerous financial services companies.
