Hercules Offshore, a provider of oil and gas producing services, has named Troy Carson as chief accounting officer. Carson joined the company as vice president and corporate controller in March 2007 and was named principal accounting officer in July 2008. Previously, Carson served in a variety of roles, including as the assistant corporate controller, at Weatherford International Ltd., an international oilfield services company.

In other news, the company also named Stephen Butz, currently vice president of finance and treasurer, as senior vice president, chief financial officer, and treasurer. Butz assumes his new roles from Lisa Rodriguez, who resigned and will remain with the company in the position of vice president of human resources.

Butz joined the company in February 2005 and served as the director of corporate development at the time of the company's initial public offering. In October 2006, he was appointed vice president of finance and treasurer of the company. Prior to joining the company, Butz served as a consultant to Noble Corporation, an international offshore drilling contractor. Butz also previously served in a variety of roles in both investment and commercial banking at institutions including, Deutsche Bank, Jefferies & Company and First Interstate Bank.
