Healthcare Services Group, a national provider of professional housekeeping, laundry and dietary services to long-term care and related health care facilities, has appointed John Briggs as lead director to its board.

Briggs has served on the company's board of directors since 1993. Briggs was the Treasurer of the Philadelphia Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure from 2005 through 2011. Additionally, he is the founder and formerly a partner of Briggs, Bunting & Dougherty, a registered public accounting firm.

In other news, the company announced the following executive management appointments:

Richard Hudson, former chief financial officer, chief compliance officer and secretary since 2007, will continue to serve as chief compliance officer.

Theodore Wahl has been appointed to serve as president and chief operating officer. Wahl also serves on the company's board of directors. Wahl, who joined the company in 2004, previously served as executive vice president and chief operating officer.

John Shea has been appointed to serve as CFO and secretary. Shea had previously served as vice president of finance and chief accounting officer. Shea, who joined the company in 2009 as the director of regulatory reporting, previously was a senior manager with Ernst & Young's Transaction Advisory Services.

Bryan McCartney, who joined the company in 1983, has been appointed as executive vice president. Previously, he served as senior vice president.

Michael McBryan, who joined the company in 1988, has been appointed executive vice president. McBryan also serves on the company's board of directors. Prior to becoming executive vice president, McBryan served as senior vice president.
