$26 billion Hartford Financial Services Group has named Robert Paiano as senior vice president and enterprise chief risk officer.

In his new role, Paiano will be responsible for enterprise-wide risk management strategy and execution across the company, including the company’s life, property and casualty and investment operations. He will report to Executive Vice President and CFO Lizabeth Zlatkus.

Paiano, who joined The Hartford in 1996 as senior vice president of corporate finance, most recently served as chief risk officer of the property casualty operations and oversaw catastrophe risk management and reinsurance where he led the development of the company’s first catastrophe bond program.
