Lizabeth Zlatkus, chief financial officer of $9.2 billion life insurer Hartford Financial Services Group, has been appointed its chief risk officer. Zlatkus will remain in her current role as CFO until a successor has been found, the company announced.

Zlatkus was named CFO in May 2008. She joined Hartford in its property/casualty business in 1983.

Both the CFO and the CRO roles will report directly to the company’

s Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Liam McGee, with the CRO leading the risk-management function for the corporation.
