Green Mountain Coffee Roasters, a specialty coffee and coffee makers company, has appointed Michael Degnan as chief legal officer and corporate general counsel, and Sonia Cudd as secretary, both effective March 31.

Degnan, who has served as vice president and associate general counsel at Green Mountain since January 2011, replaces Howard Malovany, whose retirement was announced in December 2012.

Degnan joined Keurig, (later acquired by Green Mountain in 2006,) as corporate counsel in 2004 and later became vice president, corporate counsel, and general counsel. Prior to Green Mountain, he served for 11 years in private practice at law firms Rich May and Craig and Macauley Professional Corp.

Cudd has served as Green Mountain's vice president and associate general counsel since April 2012 and will continue in this capacity in addition to her new responsibilities as secretary. Cudd has 18 years of corporate, securities and governance practice with the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, spices company McCormick & Co., as well as with law firms Whiteford, Taylor & Preston and Blank Rome. She also served at the Securities and Exchange Commission in the division of corporation finance.
