Coworking space company WeWork announced the promotion of Pam Swidler to chief legal officer, chief compliance officer, and corporate secretary, according to a public filing.

Swidler, who most recently served as senior vice president, head of Americas & international, legal, succeeds Jared DeMatteis in the role. DeMatteis is departing the company to pursue other opportunities.

Swidler has held several roles with WeWork in the past seven years, including head of real estate transactions and special counsel; regional general counsel, Americas; deputy general counsel, real estate; and senior counsel, real estate, according to her LinkedIn profile.

Previously, she served as a real estate associate with law firm Kramer Levin Naftalis & Frankel for more than eight years.
