Tyler Technologies announced that Bill Van Asselt has been promoted to chief legal officer and assumes direct leadership of the legal team.
Van Asselt joined Tyler through the acquisition of NIC, in 2021, where he worked for nearly 11 years, serving as NIC’s general counsel for five years. Prior to NIC, he practiced law at Lathrop & Gage LLP in Kansas City, Missouri.
Since joining Tyler, Van Asselt has served as deputy chief legal officer.
